The battlefield's element can be changed by combining 3 elements together. Combining aspects of Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Destiny's battle systems, as well have putting in an elemental grid, each battle, location and monster will have a element attached. Dawn of the New World uses the "Flex Range Element Enhanced Linear Motion Battle System". The layout of the map looks more like that of Tales of Phantasia's, and the development team openly admitted that they had left the field map due to production schedule deadlines. Instead of reusing the free roam system that was implemented in Tales of Symphonia, a point and click feature will be put in. Skits will also make a return and are fully voiced by the Japanese voice actors, as well as by the English voice actors. Most of the story will be told through real time cutscenes instead of the animated style that was only implemented in the opening of the game. As such, this is not considered a "mothership" title in the franchise. It has already been said that this will not be a direct sequel to Tales of Symphonia, and that the option is still out there for a direct sequel to be made. If the player has Graces F and/or Xillia saves on their PS3, they will be rewarded with a new costume for each of the characters in Tales of Symphonia - most of which are based off of one of the characters from either of the aforementioned Tales games.Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World is a release in the Tales franchise made from Namco Bandai Studios. Unlike their original Western releases, Symphonia Chronicles allows players to select between English and Japanese audio for both games. The port of Tales of Symphonia is based on the PS2 version of the game which included extra content and some gameplay improvements, however the framerate was reduced to 30 frames-per-second instead of 60 like on the Gamecube. The port was rumored and dismissed just a few weeks before it was announced at Tales Festival 2013 on June 1st, 2013.
The HD Collection, tentatively titled Tales of Symphonia Chronicles in the west, was released in Japan on Octowith western territories to follow in 2014.
